In the fall of 2000, several successful businessmen, with a common passion for the game of golf, came together and began sharing ideas on creating a new local golf course. The course would encompass the best characteristics and features of other golf courses that they had experienced, along with many additional ideas that they envisioned an elite club could achieve. Quickly, their ideas began to turn into reality as they secured an exquisite plot of prime acreage in the towns of Greenland and Stratham, N.H., large enough and with the right natural splendor to build the 18-hole course of their dreams.

Arnold Palmer, a golf legend with a proven track record of success in designing the best courses in the world, was enlisted as part of the team. His expansive expertise was applied throughout the design and implementation process, with the result being what is known today as The Golf Club of New England. A marvelous course that one must experience to realize the full splendor – a golf course like no other in the entire region!

The Golf Club of New England has hosted six USGA qualifiers for the 2004 U.S. Amateur, 2004 USGA Senior Women’s Amateur, 2005 U.S. Mid-Amateur and 2005, 2006 and 2009 USGA Senior Amateurs.

Even though the course has been completed for some time, improvements and redesigns are continually being performed to enrich the course and facility. We are committed to making changes that will add value to the overall golf experience.
