The Golf Club of New England will host a special welcome dinner and also a player's dinner during the 2012 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. Players, their families, members of the USGA committee and staff will be invited to the events. Please take advantage of our free shuttle service if you plan to attend one of these events, as parking will be limited. 

One of the special events will be held at Pease Air Base is the home of the 157th Air Refueling Wing of the US Air Force and the KC-135 Stratotanker.  For more than 50 years, the KC-135 has provided the core aerial refueling capability for the Air Force from this New Hampshire location. Players will have the opportunity to tour the KC-135 and Air Force personnel will be available to answer any questions they may have.

Deane R. Beman, member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and seventh recipient of the 2007 PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award, will be the guest speaker at the 2012 Players’ Dinner. 

Deane competed in the 1953, ‘54 & ’55 Junior Amateur Championships.  He won the U.S. Amateur twice and the British Amateur once.  Beman turned professional in 1967 and won four times on the PGA Tour between 1969 and 1973.  He was famous for his outstanding short game, and was renowned as one of the best putters in the world. 

During his tenure as commissioner of the PGA Tour from 1974 to 1994, he introduced The Players Championship concept and developed a network of Tournament Players Club courses around the country.  Whether as a golf professional, golf administrator or golf course architect, Dean Beman’s contributions to golf are well documented and we are honored to have him join us for the 2012 Championship.
